As Sri Lanka's economic situation deteriorates, some people struggle with a lack of fuel, while others have to deal with the risk of becoming food insecure. 4 in 10 households in Sri Lanka are now facing the risk of going hungry, according to the World Food Programme. Staggering numbers like this are what the Sustainability Branch of One Child attempts to combat. We know that education is what is necessary to reach Sri Lanka's true potential but how can children learn and develop the skills they need if they do not have the basic requirements for survival? This branch of One Child attempts to help sustain communities to create more opportunities for conducive learning.
